Week of 4/13
Now that you have a basic background in Viruses, we’ll start to look at the mathematics of transmission and “Flattening the Curve”. Please find the simulation activities for “Lesson 2: Flattening the Curve” at http://www.lyndenmath.org/MOW.html. Also make sure you fill out the Form linked there to provide question answers and feedback on this assignment. Make sure you check your school email and sign up for Remind – all on that same webpage as your assignment.
Weeks of 3/23/2020 and 3/30/2020
What governments are doing all over the world with regard to COVID-19 is based on mathematical modelling. We’re going to focus on every aspect of Coronavirus that is mathematical. To get started, take a look at the video: What is a Virus? It’s a little over an hour long, so consider splitting it up over a few days. This is a lecture from a college course, but very understandable, interesting and current (it’s from 2020 and includes the Coronavirus). Be the virus expert in your family. Share what you learn with them.
